29th July 2018 – Probably the best maritime event of the year. A nice selection of high quality barges in the canals of Leiden. Well organized, and most ships were open to the public! I will certainly go back next year.

27th July 2018 – The canal was closed till lunchtime. No traffic was allowed, but nothing happened. By the evening, the current has turned and the fuel came back.
24th July 2018 – We went for a little cruise through the houseboats on the Kolenkaai and the Houtkaai. I took some pictures, we had a few beers and ended on the deck of the neighbours for some more drinks. It was way to warm to sleep or do anything productive.
21st July 2018 – In the morning I went to Bruinisse. It were visserijdagen. I was surprised to see in what good condition their trawlers are. Massive ships and no rust!
Just like last year, I went to Veere. There is a historical barge race for old inland fishing boats like botters, Hoogaars and lemmeraken. It was a great event. I took a small trip on a tourist boat. This was perfect for taking close range pictures.
The old website is gone. She is still online, but hidden at the moment. I’m transferring the old posts to this new site. Where possible, I will add some more pictures and keywords for searching.
At this moment I’m uploading the conversion of the Lemmeraak ‘Op Hoop van Zegen‘.
13th July 2018 – We moved a friend’s barge in the evening. She is now moored alongside the Watergeus. Two Luxe Motors from the same period. A nice look from the other side!
9th July 2018 – I’ve been working on Museumschip Tordino for most of the time. She is now nearly ready for opening next weekend.
6th July 2018 – We went to see the ‘Op Hoop van Zegen’ in Zelzate. She will be launched in the water next week, so this was one of the last days to take some pictures after the repairs had been done.
It is a good thing the new owner repaired the bow. Sadly enough, the yard didn’t do it properly. The shape and curve were not followed and instead of welding, a lot of silicon was used.
25th June 2018 – A special painted English boat passed by.
23rd June 2018 – A couple of my friends organized a party in Ghent. It was near the water in an old factory. A lovely location, not far from where I used to live on the Aquarel. It brought back some nice memories…
22nd June 2018 – What is better to start the weekend then having a small boat trip in Bruges…
18th May 2018 – There are new neighbours in our boat community. Time for a house warming party!
6th May 2018 – Just having a few drinks on one boat, then joining two boats a bit further and having some more! It was a great evening with several friendly people from different countries.
22nd April 2018 – I went to Maasbracht. There is a small maritime museum. I visited, went for a good meal and had a boat trip. The good thing about that last one: I was able to take pictures you couldn’t otherwise take…
At this moment, I’m adding several galleries with, previous unpublished pictures to the posts. With my new website it is easier to add pictures and keywords.
