9th February 2021 – I did a quick check on Tordino. After a phone call in the wheelhouse I felt asleep for an hour. It was so lovely in the sun behind glass….
The entrance was still in position. I was a bit worried when the ice would melt, that the whole construction could slide down.
6th February 2021 – I finished most of the floor in the kitchen and the entrance was lifted aboard Tordino.
5th February 2021 – I drove to Franeker to pick up the new entrance for the hold of Tordino. It is a nice looking entrance, perfectly shaped and heavily build.
1st February 2021 – I found a remaining lot of parquet for sale yesterday evening. I called the owner, we agreed a price and I went to pick it up. The plan is to put it down on Thursday.
30th January 2021 – Just like in Bruges, water is high on most rivers and canals at the moment. I had a check on Tordino to make sure everything was fine.
25th January 2021 – I quickly checked Tordino and unloaded some of the books I bought last week. Everything was fine. I just hope they will be able to deliver the heather tomorrow and that my power supply is strong enough to hold it.
22nd January 2021 – I quickly welded a bracket for the chimney of the new heather they will install next Tuesday. Power is so limited I only managed to stick the support. It is solid enough but it needs proper welding soon.
19th January 2021 – We managed to get a collection of books from a retired sailor. It is a large collection, so we picked it up from Dordrecht. It now needs an inventory, which will probably take a few weeks.
18th January 2021 – A skipper gave me the advice to make the hole on the inside bigger in case the chimney would become to warm. It took me some time to make a bigger round hole, but it worked. We went to Ikea in the morning and picked up some plastic covers for the floor of the wheelhouse.
17th January 2021 – I drilled a hole for the chimney of the new heating system. It took me some time to get through the meal, not really knowing what was happening. After the hole was made, I discovered tere was a rib with wood at the side of the hole. This means I now have a 9.5cm hole instead of 10cm…. Probably the only rib I could have, I had it….
15th January 2021 – The kitchen is getting cleaner, I removed some more old wires and lights that were no longer working. Some Ikea decoration is now hanging instead. The inside of the bedroom cabinet is partly in t&g, since I ran out. A proper lifering is hanging outside and my blueboard sign is fixed. All small jobs, taking a lot of time.
13th January 2021 – The kitchen cupboard was painted and the water tap mounted. It worked without leaking! After mounting tiles without them dropping from the wall and now a good working tap: I might become professional after all…
