23rd February 2019 – I went to Wijk-Bij-Duurstede, had a meeting and made a drive around, took some pictures and went to Zelzate to the Arma.
23rd February 2019 – I went to Wijk-Bij-Duurstede, had a meeting and made a drive around, took some pictures and went to Zelzate to the Arma.
20th February 2019 – A few small paint jobs were done this evening: mast, parts of the deck and the stairs to the wheelhouse.
19th February 2019 – The Arma was launched on Monday. When we arrived, the yard was still working aboard getting everything done.
13th February 2019 – There might be an option I’m moving the Tordino to the Netherlands. I had an appointment in Vreeswijk at the Museumwerf. More information will follow.
16th February 2019 – After more than fourteen years, there are new namesigns on the bow of the Watergeus.
16th February 2019 – Besides being open for an extra day, I mounted the new statieplank on top of the car crane, like it used to be the last thirty years. In the Library, we moved some furniture and in the museum, new objects were added.
15th February 2019 – The namesigns on the bow are back. New paint and new letters. Looks good!
In the afternoon, I built some Library furniture to put the books I recently acquired. I never tought I would have to buy that many furniture for the Library.
13th February 2019 –I was surprised to see how much progress was made. The hull was painted, the windows mounted at the front on deck and the engine room was closed. Water tanks were in position and the people of the yard were doing the fittings. A nice project for its purpose.
2nd February 2019 – We went to Dordrecht. A visit to the museum in the morning and a a tour in the museum harbour in the afternoon. Sadly enough the weather wasn’t on our side.
23rd January 2019 – I had a look at Tordino in the morning. I got stuck with my car, a few hundred meters before getting to the ship. A local farmer helped me out. Power was still on, so I hope everything is fine.
22nd January 2019 – This morning I drove to Tordino to check the ship. It was fine. There was a commercial barge alongside. On the way to work, it started snowing.
When I got back in the evening, most snow was gone, so I had no pictures taken of my ships in the snow.
21st January 2019 – The electric heather in the bowhtruster area didn’t go on. When I arrived that morning, I put it higher. In the evening, it was still running. The hold has some condensation. I wished I had some better shore power to run a few more electric heathers.
The most important vitrines were covered to protect them.
19th January 2019 – We had our annual New year’s drink on the Terra Nova. She is moored in Vreeswijk, near Utrecht. It was a great afternoon. A person gave a nice overview of the steam paddle ships on the river Lek.
14th January 2019 – Sorting out books, putting them in the Inventory system and then get them in the Library. Eight boxes do take some time, but I’m getting there. Building a Library in less then two years means something!
