3rd October 2020 – Unloading the car and lowering the objects took most of the morning. Most of the objects already found a nice place aboard Tordino.

2nd October 2020 – The Scheepvaartmuseum in Groningen is changing courses and they are removing some items from their collection. I had the chance to pick up some items in Leeuwarden. On the way back I had some issues with the car, which made me choose to drive straight home instead of taking pictures in the villages around Leeuwarden.
27th September 2020 – In between thinking of solutions for the Stern, I continued scanning book covers for the Erfgoed in Zicht Library. I have over a thousand of books and more then three thousand magazines that need to be scanned.
25th September 2020 – Tordino was secured in the evening, lowering the mast, taking one inside and tightening the lorry for the hatches. The rope of the blueboard had already snapped, so I put a new one on.
21st September 2020 – Every single moment I have some time, new items are being added to the catalogue. The online version is visible through
Erfgoed in Zicht
15th September 2020 – Finally I got some time to redesign the website of Museumschip Tordino. I did a small adjustment last month, but I wasn’t happy. Now the result is better.

23rd August 2020 – I just mounted the first model in the entrance of the ship. I had to dismantle many pieces so I could mount it.
While I was aboard, I redid the ropes. There was to much slack in the ropes.
21st Augusts 2020 – Recently I acquired six models of ship elevators. One of them will be showed at the entrance of the ship. Therefore I need to rebuild the entrance. I started in the evening by dismantling all the objects and store them securely.
18th August 2020 – While it seems quiet aboard the Tordino, we continue to digitalise the collection and add it to Erfgoedinzicht.
5th August 2020 – One of the last remaining issues for looking traditional are the aluminium hatches. They look to modern, even if it is an old ship. The cover was mounted today and I’m happy with the result. By the time we finished temperature was to hot to do anything. So it the was right timing!
4th August 2020 – The hatches were to sharp for a cover, so I had to put some soft material around them. It took us four hours to create something softly, but solid so It would last one evening until the cover holds it together.
25th July 2020 – I drove for a second set of models to Baasrode. The biggest model of the ship elevator of Strepy-Thieu. A heavy model of more than 2 meters long. I had to dismantle it into two pieces. It took me over one hour to lower it in Tordino. It will become the centerpiece at the entrance in the near future, once the model is fully restored.
4th July 2020 – While I was open to the public, on reservation only, I mounted some more photographs and objects. My battery of the phone was flat so I didn’t take any pictures.
In the afternoon, I took some tools from the ship to the Stern.
