16th October 2010 – A potential buyer for the Frantsis came. Since I had already removed the water from the engine, for the coming winter period, I had to fill her up again.
15th October 2010 – A last bit of wall has now been removed, and the remaining corners and rivets painted with a good coat of primer. I would love to start building that wall. It makes look the room more finished.
13th October 2010 – I painted the side where all the wood had just been removed. Since I didn’t have much time I did a quick job.
12th October 2010 – I decided to put the Frantsis up for sale. Anyone who is interested can contact me. She is good start for a nice project of a little houseboat. It is technical also possible to make her look original again, but that would take you some time!
12th October 2010 – I removed the wall with the chipboard and the electricity. It was built much stronger then the other side.
11th October 2010 – I continued working on the roof in the wheelhouse, a very time consuming job. For a change, I painted the front accommodation in the afternoon. It is always nice to do something different in the afternoon.
10th October 2010 – For the first time in a long period, family came to visit the barge. Working all these years also means not having enough time doing anything else.
9th October 2010 – Many people asks me for information. Wherever possible I always tried helping them. Since these questions and barge visits are taking a lot of my time, I’ve just started doing this as a semi-professional job.
Please have a look at my site (under construction).
7th October 2010 – I still had to close the wooden construction where water pipes are running through. It is a job that I had to do a longtime ago. Together with the wood I ordered on Monday, I bought some planks to close the gap.
6th October 2010 – Mainly worked on the walls and the shower again.
5th October 2010 – I started using the wood they delivered yesterday. The shower is getting a good shape, two walls are ready for tiling.
4th October 2010 – In the early morning I went to the Ross Leopard to take some pictures of her being towed away. The tug never showed up and I felt asleep in the wheelhouse. Half of the morning was gone…
While I was waiting for the wood to be delivered, I painted the front accommodation. When this was done and the wood aboard the Watergeus, I finished the second entrance to the boat.
2nd October 2010 – I finished the cabin on the front deck and started painting it. In the afternoon, I mainly worked in the back accommodation. I wonder when the weather will be good again.
1st October 2010 – I’m using my girlfriends camera. New pictures will be illustrating the text again. Thanks Carmen!
29th September 2010 – I cut out the shower area in the back accommodation. The bathroom, where once the kitchen was has a standing height of 1,80 meters. That is not enough for a shower, so I’ll lower the floor in the bathroom. Since there are a few ribs, the grease pump and the gearbox, I had to carefully choose the area where I could put the shower.
In the evening I went eating at the neighbours.
