6th April 2018 – The bottom part of the wheelhouse got a second coat of paint. It is looking good again. Somewhere next week, I will glue the labels with her name and registration number on the back.

5th April 2018 – I quickly drove to the yard in Zelzate. A neighbour is on the slipway with her boat. She had a survey done and was surprisingly positive about the result! There were a few minor issues. I wanted to help, but couldn’t find the energy. Just back from the yard myself and going back with my second ship in September means enough yard work for me!
3rd April 2018 – After launching her back in the water, the leaks seems to be fine. We waited another few hours and went home; I was glad she is back on her mooring.
2nd April 2018 – The bilges are now clean enough to find a possible leak. In the early morning I had to drive to Terneuzen to get myself a new vacuu cleaner. Shops were closed in Belgium and the machine was broken…
1st April 2018: Climbing down the bilges, cleaning grease, remains of water and dirt. Everything except a lovely day.
31st March 2018 – I started cleaning the front engine room. The first job was taking out the floor panels. They are massive 8mm metal sheets. They are now grease free.
30th March 2018 – Tordino was taken out of the water the next morning. I was up all night with a pump, trying to avoid water getting near the generator or bow thruster.
Two plates were welded on the bow of the ship. I hope they will stop the water from coming in.
29th March 2018 – The Tordino was put in the water in the late afternoon. By the evening, I noticed the bowh thruster area was filling with water …
28th March 2018 – Painting the bottom
27th March 2018 – Painting the pipes
There was no welding in the morning, so I continued working in the hold, finishing the Museum environment.
18th March 2018 – I started early, doing some t&g in the hold. It was to cold to work outside.
Two friends paid me a visit at the yard. We had a few drinks and walked around! I showed him te repairs made and where they should look at their next yard visit.
17th March 2018 – I had to be early at the yard since they needed to cut a few pipes from underneath the engine room. There was a small risk on fire, so I wanted to be in the engine room.
In the afternoon, I painted the propeller tunnel and the sides of the engine room where the pipes were hanging.
