29th December 2023 – While working the in the reading room an old friend and neighbour came to pay me a visit. We went to have a drink and I stopped working for they day…

27th December 2023 – I finished the ceiling of the reading room.
26th December 2023 – We went to Douai to take some pictures of the spits barges moored in the area. I took over 400 pictures of at least 300 barges!
9th December 2023 – I found some time to work in the library. Half of the ceiling is now insulated and finished with t&g!
I don’t want to start thinking about painting this small room….
8th December 2023 – We were in the Netherlands today and got some nice additions for the museum!
4th December 2023 – I made some good progress on the BBS tool, mainly developing and adding old postcards to the database. It finally all comes together, the postcards, the ships, the skippers… Once the project has all the data being inputted it should become a nice work for the next generations!
I’m not updating every day I do something on BBS, since it would become a boring weblog. But keep in mind, I’m working nearly every evening on it!
2nd December 2023 – I continued working in the library, building the last frame, this time for the starboard side. Now it is only t&g…
2nd December 2023 – With temperatures below 0°C during the night and day we have to be careful. So I go checking the boats on a regular base (early morning, lunch and late evening). I need to refill the pellet heather three times a day.
