Month: August 2022
27th August 2022 – De Pijl, a beautiful Luxe motor came from Nieuwpoort.
27th August 2022 – I had two major groups visiting Tordino this afternoon…
24th August 2022 – I took some time, in between converting our place, to work aboard Tordino. I did some scanning and put some books in the right shelves. It was slightly to warm to work, but It felt good to do at least something aboard…
20th August 2022 – They are talking about reducing the locks to safe water. This means less boats will be passing. I ws lucky to spot an classic English yacht.
11th August 2022 – Between every sheet of the wheelhouse roof, there is a wooden gutter. They are still fine, but not to last another 100 years. I left enough space between the sheets and the gutter to slide an aluminium gutter in between. If it works, the rain water should no longer touch the wood. Let’s hope, since they are speaking about heavy rain next week….
11th August 2022 – Since I was a child, I’ve always known this ship to be in the port of Ostend. They towed it away and it will be taken out of the water in the next couple of days. I don’t know if many people will notice the ship is gone. It is believed to be an old Mickey, an English minesweeper from during the second World War.
10th August 2022 – I noticed in between several other yachts a special looking riveted ship, a kind of bakdekkruiser.
9th August 2022 – The tjalk Pascal passed by
8th August 2022 – We received a model of a houten waal from an skipper’s wife today. It is a nice addition to our collection!
3rd August 2022 – A nice looking luxe motor moved from Bruges to Ostend. I had a chance to take some pictures.
2nd August 2022 – My mother cleaned the front of the ship, namesigns and the canal side of the ship. That side urgently needs some attention! I chipped the anchor on the front deck. An anchor I got from a neighbour, the same neighbour who later complained it was in front of the Watergeus. Well now it is aboard Tordino and it will remain there for a long period!
1st August 2022 – The wooden lists are finished. I just need to replace one more window and then I can move on to the next project aboard Tordino.
