26th April 2022 – I just mounted around 30 frames for the new exhibition that starts on Sunday. Nearly there…
23rd April 2022 – In between visitors, I continued working in the library, adding an extra cupboard and moving a big model. I now have again enough room for one or two years of collecting magazines.
Slowly getting there in optimising storage aboard Tordino.
18th April 2022 – I can’t remember the days where I walked weekly through the harbour of Ostend for taking pictures. I was in Ostend this evening for a walk with my girlfriend. I took three pictures…
18th April 2022 – A very busy day, we had a lot of visitors today. I barely had any time to work on the content of the museum. I tried sorting out the magazines, a lot of work since I have over 400 different magazine titles…
17th April 2022 – While the museum is open, in between visits, I was working in the server room, Library and hold. I temporary stored several magazines where I’ve put my servers. Now I’m scanning the covers and putting them back in the Library.
I added some more labels and some paintings in the hold. Some of the more unique pieces from the Watergeus are now in the hold of Tordino. I’m removing more and more non inland waterways stuff, replacing it with more important content.
16th April 2022 – Since the Watergeus is still my ship, since I have a lot of friends and since it was nice weather: I decided to have a party on the Watergeus, like in the old days. It was great!
15th April 2022 – I want to work with movies and digital content for the new exhibition. Therefore, I need to pull new electricity in the Library. This is also the right time for changing the temporary construction I made some years ago.
14th April 2022 – Half of the exterior of the ship was cleaned today. Some more flags are now on the gangway and I got a little further working on the new exhibition.
12th April 2022 – There are new flags on Tordino. After the last couple of storms, most of them were gone.
I did some scanning in the evening until my parents arrived to lower a model aboard the ship. The model is so heavy we needed three people to get it aboard.
10th April 2022 – Today I drove to the Netherlands to pick up four models, two tugs and two barges.
In the evening I loaded them aboard, they got a label and are ready for the first visitors tomorrow.
9th April 2022 – I started in the Library removing the old exhibition that lasted for nearly four years. Now it is time for a new one, one about the old wooden barges. I mounted two nu cupboards from Ikea and started building the new expo.
8th April 2022 – I noticed a big lighter in the canal, behind was the pusher Chris-Li. Must be a professional skipper to sail the canal without damaging anything! A nice job.
5th April 2022 – When In started converting Tordino, I had a small workshop at the end of the ship. On top of the workshop were two watertanks. The idea then was to have a bar at the end of the ship and therefore I needed water. The bar became a library, the watert tanks were removed for storage and now the workshop is being turned into a server room.
4th April 2022 – I have eight little masts on the gangway. There are mounted with plastic straps. Every storm I lose a few of these masts. Neighbours, friends or colleagues find them back in the water and drop them off aboard. I now mounted metal straps. Let’s see if it holds now…
In the evening I continued scanning books.
3rd April 2022 – I was surprised to see how many book covers I still need to scan. Making progress, but slowly….
