Watergeus – Bulkhead and front deck

3rd September 2011 – I did some more work on the bulkhead today while I was filling up my water tanks. In the afternoon I cleaned the fore deck and repainted it. Last year, I put a metal box on deck. One year later, with the dust on deck underneath the box I had a lot of rust.

Watergeus – Portholes in the bow

30th August 2011 – I want to mount two portholes in the bow of the ship. It can be good, but it might look wrong as well. I must make sure it doesn’t look like two eyes watching like a fish. Instead of just cutting a hole, I took the little work boat and drawed them on the hull with chalk. I will take the second one, the nearest one to the anchor.

Watergeus – Deck storage

3rd August 2011 – Near the wheelhouse are two storage units, also called tabernakels. One of them contains my deck pump, the other one is filled with spare ropes. I cleaned one today, painted it and it looks good. I’ll do the other one tomorrow.

Watergeus – Deck

27th July 2011 – It has to be done one day, so I just started. Cleaning the remaining 16 meters of gang board. I did around three meters today. When I finished painting, it started raining.

Watergeus – Bulkhead

25th June 2011 – For a long period, I’m considering to bring my ship under the new regulations for sailing. This means I need a bulkhead in the engine room. I’m cleaning the area at the moment, measuring and looking where to put ribs, plates, etc…

In the afternoon I filled my water tanks and had a chat aboard the Frantsis. A lot of work has been done aboard the Frantsis!

The same with the Watergeus! I have not been working on her for a period, but the condition changes quickly. I’m glad I did sell the Escapade. It would have been to much work to maintain three vessels.

Watergeus – Broken battery charger

23rd June 2011 – The last couple of weeks I had not been on board for a long period. I spent most of my time in the Netherlands working on the Hornblower.

While I was in the wheelhouse, checking the back accommodation, I noticed my charger was no longer active. Everything I tried, it didn’t help…

Three years ago I bought an expensive loader from the brand Mastervolt, which was supposed to last a few years, not three!
