10th April 2022 – Today I drove to the Netherlands to pick up four models, two tugs and two barges.
In the evening I loaded them aboard, they got a label and are ready for the first visitors tomorrow.

9th April 2022 – I started in the Library removing the old exhibition that lasted for nearly four years. Now it is time for a new one, one about the old wooden barges. I mounted two nu cupboards from Ikea and started building the new expo.
5th April 2022 – When In started converting Tordino, I had a small workshop at the end of the ship. On top of the workshop were two watertanks. The idea then was to have a bar at the end of the ship and therefore I needed water. The bar became a library, the watert tanks were removed for storage and now the workshop is being turned into a server room.
4th April 2022 – I have eight little masts on the gangway. There are mounted with plastic straps. Every storm I lose a few of these masts. Neighbours, friends or colleagues find them back in the water and drop them off aboard. I now mounted metal straps. Let’s see if it holds now…
In the evening I continued scanning books.
3rd April 2022 – I was surprised to see how many book covers I still need to scan. Making progress, but slowly….
2nd April 2022 – Another day of scanning books. My idea was to keep the library closed when I open the museum in a few weeks, but people like to see the models stored in the library. I will try to sort out the books I received last year and in January. I will need to do a lot of scanning and sorting out…
31st March 2022 – With the nearly daily growing collection of books and documents, I extended the storage in the library.
30th March 2022 – Another 54 books and old inland maps were scanned today. I want the library to be clean when we open on 16th April 2022.
27th March 2022 – The work on Tordino continues. I cleaned the entrance of the ship. The tools for working on the Stern and new packages with books were stored around the steps. There was barely any room to walk around. In the evening I scanned books in the library. Sorting out the Library will be the next big job. I can’t wait to open for the public.
24th March 2022 – It was a busy afternoon. A lot of small jobs have been done, but there is still a lot that needs doing! I cleaned the concrete talud, wiped the gangways, mounted the flag posts, moved some cupboards in the hold, removed old content and replaced it with new one, etc…
A lot more needs doing but that is a job for Sunday!
25th February 2022 – I finally found some time to add the scanned postcards to the digital library of Erfgoed in Zicht. It feels good to keep myself a bit busy again with the museum.
25th February 2022 – Since I need to empty the Watergeus by the end of the month, I had to create a small scanning office in the Library of Tordino. At least the scanning of postcards and documents can now continue. Therefore I moved my servers and computers to Tordino. A delicate job, taking a few hours.
18th February 2022 – A bit late, after the last couple of days having got a lot of wind, I decided to put a few more straps on the wheelhouse, solar panels and masts. I also removed the flags from the gangway. Let’s hope everything stays fine.
17th February 2022 – I’ve just scanned a set of old postcards, installed my computers from the Watergeus aboard Tordino and secured the ship for the coming storm.
12th February 2022 – Another day of moving furniture, this time I moved cabinets for the books and pieces for the museum like steering wheels and old chairs.
